Poppy Delirium at Tejon Ranch
We experienced peak super bloom without the crush of crowds on a tour through the 270,000 acre Tejon Ranch. This year’s wildflowers will make you giddy, no matter how you get out there to see them.
It has been four years since California experienced a “super bloom” and the glorious explosion of color on our hillsides feels like a well-deserved reward for having endured a long, rainy winter. You are likely seeing poppies and yellow mustard along the roadside during your normal routes around town, but if you are itching to witness a little history, getting out of the city is a must. And soon!
Last weekend, we got our fill of flowering landscape, thanks to some friends who helped establish the Tejon Ranch Conservancy, which protects the natural assets of the privately held, 270,000 acre Tejon Ranch. I learned that anyone can visit this amazing area.
